Eagle Rock?

Has anyone ever done the Eagle Rock trail near the Broadmoor in C. Springs? I'm hearing it's not too difficult and only takes a couple hours to run. I may be going up there next Sunday with my daughter and a few of her wheeling friends if anyone else is interested.

I was told by a friend there when I lived in the Springs that you should be lifted and at least rear locked to try it.

I ran Eagle Rock and Saran Wrap on June 7th. The trails are not very long but it's easy to spend the day on these trails and in the area. Make a day of it by driving Gold camp road (HWY 24 and 26th steet) in Colorado Springs to Helen Hunt Falls (Gold Camp Rd and N. Cheyenne Canyon Rd.). Check out the lawn art on Evans Rd.

Follow Mesa Ave. to Penrose Blvd to W. cheyenne Mountain Blvd and Old Cripple Creek Stage Rd (FS 368) and up to Eagle Rock and Saran Wrap trails. After that you can complete the loop of Pikes Peak by taking FS 368 to Cripple Creek for dinner and chance to win big bucks. Then take hwy 67 to Divide, HWY 24 to Woodland Park where you will have to decide if you want to take HWY 67 up to HWY 285 back to Denver or head down to Colorado Springs to take the boring old HWY 25 back to Denver.

Looks like the plan has changed and were going to run Spring Creek up by Idaho Springs instead.

Helen Hunt Falls? We were just down at Seven Falls last weekend, which was pretty cool. We hiked all the stairs and trails there. They seemed to be connected to this Helen Hunt Jackson, author of Ramona, which apparently was a famous book at one time, back before Nintendo was invented.

Then take hwy 67 to Divide, HWY 24 to Woodland Park where you will have to decide if you want to take HWY 67 up to HWY 285 back to Denver or head down to Colorado Springs to take the boring old HWY 25 back to Denver.

Going down to the campground we were at last weekend, we took 85 to Sedalia, then 67 south almost to Woodland Park (we were about 7 miles north of Woodland Park). At one point, just after Sprucewood, 67 turned into a dirt road!

There are some really weird squirrels down there as well.
