Keep up the inputs everyone!

As of 06-05-2026 1000 MT, a Gaia mapping of the route is now created & shared. It is not set in stone, just a general plan to share what's in mind. Please let me know if Gaia itself shows you the route correctly compared to the screenshot. Sometimes I find the AI magic of the computer programmer nerd peoples needs a lil help to gain more real intelligence. The tools we use are only as good as their makers & users.

The top post is also updated to include everyone that's expressed interest to some effect since the last major update May 14th.

Thanks Daniel for answering @Rezarf. I am stoked to have 406 Cruisers join the adventures! There will for sure be a lot of DINOSAURS, and a lot of petroglyphs too. @Well Sorted tell your son. I expect a lot of T-rex-RIFIC facts & puns shared on the radios & in camps.

Planning on primarily using FRS/GMRS channel 16. If we need we'll adjust, including to use of Ham 147.540. That info should already be in the top post. If anyone needs, I will have some spares I can share, and I expect some folks in the group will also be willing to share spares.

Please let me know if I missed anything, and/or anyone.

thanks,
Allen

Continuing the conversation plus researching for this September, I found:
  • A nice simple and well explained write up from NPS about Yampa Bench Road: Drive the Yampa Bench Road (U.S. National Park Service)
    • The NPS Drive Yampa Bench Rd webpage also says dog are allowed within the NP as long as they are leashed and clean-up is done if said dogs drop any stinky nuggets.
I added this update to the top post as well.

I'm a definite maybe. I might head over to the San Rafael Swell area after since I'll be that far north anyway (I live in La Veta) and then catch the 14erfest in Buena Vista on the way home.

I thought as a definitive maybe I would be added to one of the lists. I should have said I am interested.

I am capable of resorting to bribery if the situation calls for it.......maybe Allen isn't aware of that.......
