Coming late to the party and wasn't going to respond at all, but reconsidered.
As a lifelong mini-truck guy (multiple 4runners, grew up in an 87), it should be known that we dish back to the cruiser guys all the same. Its all in good fun, and Rockymtnhi, you should have PM'd, or asked someone about it before spouting off about someone you haven't met.
Mike is one of the kindest, most helpful, and most giving members of the club. When I broke my new link suspension on my 87 4runner, it was Mike on the HAM offering to drive his tow rig and trailer from Denver an hour up to the mountains to get me home. I doubt there is anyone in this club that Mike hasn't helped.
Mike also gives tirelessly to the Rising Sun Club, and the entire Toyota community. He helps out with numerous events and is one of the greatest guys you'll ever meet.
Rockymtnhi, I'm sorry if you feel like this club is not what you expected. I assume you joined because we are a friendly, easy going, family friendly club. You misunderstood the idle bantering between very good friends. I consider Mike a very good friend. Mike and Uncle Ben like to bash on mini trucks, and myself and other mini truck drivers bash right back at them.
Regardless, the posts here were personal attacks, and we do not tolerate that in this club. Disagreements, arguments, and good natured teasing, sure, but this crossed the line. I'm sure the club will refund your money if you truly want to join a jeep club, but I'm not sure any of us can overlook the hurtful posts you threw out with no pause for context or explanation. That, and the fact that you didn't go on a "mini's only run" because of a misinterpreted post or two is absurd. I can't imagine how you managed to make that logic work, considering it was a bunch of guys with trucks just like yours. You probably would have made some new friends, and someone might have actually explained to you what was going on.
Anyway, rant over. Rockymtnhi, I wish you the best in your future endeavors. Too bad about your experiences, but you should have given people the chance for an explanation.
