That Philippines Taxi looks awesome.

It took a long time to find that one. Have you seen the Savannah version?

Here is a link to the ones I found online that I haven't been able to find for sale

WOW! That is one SERIOUS... mental illness you have there. Perhaps this glimpse into your psychosis explains your inability to get along with any one who does not drive a Land Cruiser. I'm sure you don't care but, it was your hateful posts on the mini truck run thread that convinced me and my family NOT to go, and you are the reason why I regret joining this club already. Yes, I have a 4runner, so what?! If I wanted to wheel with a bunch of guys that hate me because of that, I would have joined a j--p club. You would be ashamed of yourself for alienating new members, if you had a conscience. Just wanted to point that out to you Treeroot. Thanks

WOW! That is one SERIOUS... escalation.

He doesn't need me or anyone else to defend him.
but mini truck jokes are one thing, saying someone is mentally ill and taking it to that personal of a level is quite another.

If you knew Mike you would know he is one of the good ones. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

And if you stick around long enough (it wouldn't take long) you will learn that about him, and many others in this club fwiw.

Just give him his membership fee back and call it good for all sides. I'm not referring to Treeroot.

You obviously don't know Treeroot. He loves all things Toyota including mini trucks. We as a group are all pretty light hearted, and have fun giving each other a hard time every now and then. You are taking statements made in jest way too seriously. :thumb::wrench:

That does remind me of a time I saw Treeroot interact with a mini truck owner. She was a young woman with a baby whose husband was deployed in Afghanistan. Her husband was set to return to Fort Bragg, North Carolina and her 4runner was broken down. She didn't have the money to fix it or fly, and didn't want to take the bus with a newborn. Treeroot went to his collection of parts and spent the weekend fixing everything he could find broken on the truck. He gave her all of the parts for free, and the truck made it back because of his efforts.

Very cool.

Mike, as a 4Runner guy I love the banter. Rckymtnhi you are out of line. Mike is nothing short of welcoming and helpful to everyone around him.

Mike I'm sorry no one on the committee saw this or responded. You are a valued member of this club and wouldn't be what it is without you in it. I have always known you are speaking in good humor. I will always poke fun at your land yacht and you can always make fun of my mini-cruiser.

Happy wheelin!

We love Root.

In fact, he didn't even make fun of my mini truck diff on my LX when I saw him on Saturday pitching in to help RS and the Forest Service to keep Jenny Creek open to everybody:thumb:

At the meeting we talked about adding a report button. While doing a little research this evening I learned something. WE do have a report button it's in the upper right hand corner and it's an ! with a white background in a red triangle. It will send a message to the admin.

Coming late to the party and wasn't going to respond at all, but reconsidered.

As a lifelong mini-truck guy (multiple 4runners, grew up in an 87), it should be known that we dish back to the cruiser guys all the same. Its all in good fun, and Rockymtnhi, you should have PM'd, or asked someone about it before spouting off about someone you haven't met.

Mike is one of the kindest, most helpful, and most giving members of the club. When I broke my new link suspension on my 87 4runner, it was Mike on the HAM offering to drive his tow rig and trailer from Denver an hour up to the mountains to get me home. I doubt there is anyone in this club that Mike hasn't helped.

Mike also gives tirelessly to the Rising Sun Club, and the entire Toyota community. He helps out with numerous events and is one of the greatest guys you'll ever meet.

Rockymtnhi, I'm sorry if you feel like this club is not what you expected. I assume you joined because we are a friendly, easy going, family friendly club. You misunderstood the idle bantering between very good friends. I consider Mike a very good friend. Mike and Uncle Ben like to bash on mini trucks, and myself and other mini truck drivers bash right back at them.

Regardless, the posts here were personal attacks, and we do not tolerate that in this club. Disagreements, arguments, and good natured teasing, sure, but this crossed the line. I'm sure the club will refund your money if you truly want to join a jeep club, but I'm not sure any of us can overlook the hurtful posts you threw out with no pause for context or explanation. That, and the fact that you didn't go on a "mini's only run" because of a misinterpreted post or two is absurd. I can't imagine how you managed to make that logic work, considering it was a bunch of guys with trucks just like yours. You probably would have made some new friends, and someone might have actually explained to you what was going on.

Anyway, rant over. Rockymtnhi, I wish you the best in your future endeavors. Too bad about your experiences, but you should have given people the chance for an explanation.

Treeroot has been a long standing member of this community and probably one of the most respected members here that goes out of his way to help any Toyota owner or for that matter any one on the trail or side of the road.

It's most disappointing that some times the friendly humor or ribbing can be taken the wrong way without getting to know the people behind the screen.

This fully derails an otherwise fun thread. I think he needs more mini truck toys. lol

I propose we remove the nonsense that derails this thread so we can get back to toys be mini truck or cruiser

Well said. I second Wes' proposal.

Mike, you are too valuable as a friend and as a club member to lose over something like this. We know who you are. That's why you are getting all the love, man.

It's also why you are getting this in your Cruiser toys thread:

As a fairly new member to the club, I always thought Mike's mini trucks comments as only jokes. It seemed like good-natured fun between friends. I hope one fly by night DB doesn't keep Mike away from a club that he loves and has done so much for. I remember not too long ago, a guy (who was not a member and no one had met before) got his 3rd gen 4runner stuck in some pretty deep snow. He posted that he need help recovery his vehicle. Treeroot and Uncle Ben took their vehicles, spent their time and money to help out a guy they didn't even know. That goes to show you what kind of guy he is. Thank you, Mike for being a truly good human being.

I also feel that kind of personal attack is complete BS. It is one reason why I hate forums. There are too many keyboard jockeys that want to bully and insult people because they can hide behind the computers. If rockymtnhi was a real man he would have said it to Mike's face at a meeting. Rising sun's forum is the only one that I post on due to the fact that everyone on here seems genuinely supportive of all the members no matter what vehicle they drive. And I hope it stays that way!

UB, Crash, Zepp, Ige, Hatfield, Koons, Luer, Slee, Quigley, Yoder - just a few of the names off the 2004 RS roster still active.

I'm missing the '05 and '06 rosters but Root is on '07. Gosh though, seems like he's been a member forever.

The number of DB's we have seen come and go has been amazingly small. None have stayed. Members taking the moral high road does not feed the personality of a disruptor.

The number of great people who have joined and stayed is the true measure.

The Rising Sun Four Wheel Drive Club of Colorado was incorporated as a Colorado non-profit corporation on June 6, 1987. The Article III purpose is "to promote responsible off-road conduct." The Article II period of its duration "shall be perpetual."

This is who we are.

You think being a mini-truck guy is tough in this club?..... Try owning a 100. Uncle Ben pushed me down in the parking lot last night and told me my truck was ugly ;) They all laughed at me.

I expect all of these posts to be deleted and for this thread to get right back to being awesome.

This ate me up all night. I'm pretty confident that Rckymtnhi attended the two meetings that I was able to make this summer. Both of which included bantering (as expected) &, if IRCC, Tim even explained the ribbing to the new attendees. Sounds like it's done & over with but let's all look out for each other.
