Hey Rising Sun crew! If you would like to help out during the 2026 event hit us up here on the forum. The 2026 event will take place April 15th through the 19st.

We will need help in the following areas,
  • Tech Inspection
    • Involves going through a checklist with each registered vehicle to make sure it is trail ready.
  • Trail Leaders & Tail Gunners
    • Having knowledge of a specific trail and being able to lead a group of vehicles safely and professionally.
  • Registration
    • Interacting with registrants during check-in to hand out registration packets.
  • Vendor Registration
    • Communicate with vendors and help them to register for the event. Secure vendor donations for raffle, help set up vendor night expo.
  • Recovery Team & Garmin INREACH Satellite Tracking
    • The recovery team is a stand-by hot shot crew with knowledge of recovering a vehicle from a trail if needed and returned back to camp. Along with this you would be monitoring our Garmin INREACH satellite communicator tracking maps for each trail run.
We have additional positions that need support so if you don't see something here specifically, just let us know what you might be interested in helping out with and someone will get back with you. Also you don't need to be highly proficient in any one area, just motivated and ready to have a great time.

I will do Tech Inspection Wednesday and also lead trails. I like leading Fins first trail ride Sataurday, but flexible. I can lead or gun another day as well

I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into this event from the committee and the volunteers. I have watched this event evolve since my first Cruise Moab in 2005. I brought my daughter Rachel with me and introduced her to off roading and volunteering

Safety Inspection was one of my favorite volunteer duties starting at my first Cruise Moab in 2000. You get to see all the cool rigs and mods and restos. I have always disliked the term "tech" inspection. To me "tech" inspection is like, wow, I love your 4 wheel steering mod. Safety is like, do your brakes work?

Happy to help with, Tech Inspection (Thursday/Friday morning shift), Trail Leader/Gunner (2-3 trails), Parts Runner for disabled vehicles (1-2 shifts), Site Clean-up (Sunday Morning), General Volunteer stuff where needed.

Note: ATC/Lonely Gargoyle will be a Vendor aswell.

Call me your leader, gunner, whatever. Just let me know. I'm your Romanian Huckleberry baby :D

If y'all would like me on Kokopelli again I would like to add maybe 15-25 additional miles on Dome Plateau. Like the mine, the caves, La Boca arch depending on the size & speed of the group. Without doing Top of the World and Rose Garden Hill, Kokopelli needed a few more miles.

Last weekend with @Inukshuk's help we poked around Dome Plateau to feel what might work for Kokopelli 2026. See red track in the screenshot below of what we explored. I'm happy to post up more explanation of what I'm thinking, just let me know if this thread is good for that or if I should make a dedicated thread.

Thanks all as always for your volunteering work!

Allen

Hello!! I made a post on Ih8mud..
Depending on where life takes me, I'd be interested in leading a Wednesday or Thursday Chicken Corners Sunset / Night run! Sunset that day is about 7.55p.. my plan would be to get at the end of the trail by about 730p, watch the sunset and night run back to town shortlyafter. I did it last event by myself and it was fantastic!

This bypass option on Dome Plateau is a fun and spicy alternative. I did it alone in my mildly built FJC with skid plates.

Late to reply but eager to trail lead, easy to mediums. Know nearly every trail at CM well.

Did you send an email? Or fill out the trail leader form on the website?
