I emailed soto's info addy asking for the not-included compatability list and haven't heard back from them. Did your burner packaging include the list?
I'm not spending part of my dividend on this until I know I can continue to use it after the first lighter is empty. I really want this to work out tho. Right now I use a big bottle of bernzOmatic with a brazing torch on top. Handy but not very packable.

The LIST I'm working through.
Settled on this search string: disposable butane cigarette lighter

Found that Walgreen's sells a lighter that fits and works perfectly in the Soto. Brand name is Aries and it's very inexpensive. After a week of use in the Gila National Forest in New Mexico above 5,000' with some cold temps, I can heartily give the Soto two thumbs up as a useable and practical tool for starting Coleman stoves, lamps, and fires of all sorts. Fire good and the torch lit up every time, no problemo.
As an addendum, I never heard back from Soto's North American distributor regarding the compatible lighters list the instructions referred to but wasn't included in the packaging. That's not too cool but, find the right lighter, as I did, and the lighter is hot - 2300 degress farenheit per the claims made for it.
