CB install - where on FJ40?

Just curious where you have insalled CB on an FJ40. Assuming you don't have a Tuffy with the separate stereo comparment. Pics would be great! oh, It'll be going in a '77.

I fit my CB into the stock stereo location. Worked great.

I've had good luck mounting the CB bracket on the front side of my Tuffy console. I need to figure out where to mount both my CB and Ham radio in my new 40.

Back when I had a 40 (sigh) I mounted mine vertically at the front of the factory center console. Stayed out of the way, easy to access, worked good for me.

If you get the narrow Uniden, you can mount it under the dash, in between the steering column and the heater. That puts it right above your right leg, which seems like it would be annoying but is not. I snaked the mic cord around the back of the heater bu using an extension, so that it doesn't dangle on my leg.

The Uniden unit is the same one that we 80-series guys install in the dash in the ashtray hole.
