Perimeter and location as of this morning (8/14/2020). There's nothing about it on InciWeb yet. Maps at 1,541 acres currently.

:( Obviously not going anywhere near it now, but scary that we had considered a camp at Larimer Lake. So sad. Thx for the map. What is your source?

That sucks, it’s going along the ditch and heading for the old cabins along it I wanted to check out. And it’s going along the end of green ridge trail.

Oh man. That sucks. The Laramie is going to be really badly effected too.

Hope they can contain it quickly.

When that system came through yesterday evening I was really surprised by how active it was. It looked like a lot of water was held in it, but very little rain and the air was hot and dry before and after it came through. Was hoping it hadn't hammered all of that dry ground up in the high country with electricity.

The fire's incident page: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/6964/

8/14 Update at 8 a.m.
Fire Managers will be putting a closure order in place this morning for #CameronPeakFire area that will affect camping and hiking activities. Please continue to check the latest information before you head out for your weekend plans.

I'd expect CO14 closure down canyon for staging and base.

Highway 14 is still wide open to rustic and almost no traffic. However smoke was pretty heavy and at an intersection with a side road we all met up and decided to go to Wyoming. Ash was falling too and for all sorts of reasons made sense to go elsewhere.4ACAA7D3-2D11-400D-A463-BE37D475E536.jpegF20A5BF2-450E-4103-94BE-B7713A5A0706.jpegA2635B54-1CD5-400C-A16F-F8AC435DB99E.jpegB5639598-1D28-4E69-958D-DA321924BE6E.jpeg

Good call. It's a well over 2100+ acre fire now and is really shaping up to look like another High Park fire. Below is a helo-vid from when this fire was at 500 acres.

The fire is growing exponentially and the terrain is making it very difficult for crews to engage it where needed. Winds kept aircraft assistance down today. Well over 4500 acres now, was at 2000 this morning up from 500 yesterday evening.

Unfortunately the fire jumped to the south side of CR14 and is over 100 acres in size on that side.

The mapped size this morning, which would probably not include overnight growth.

Oh man, I didn't expect the south side run to be up big south. One of my wife and I's favorite hiking trails over the years that follows the Poudre up into RMNP. That area won't ever be the same now, hopefully the fire stops at the big rock slide a few miles up the trail.

This burn is going to really impact fishing on the Poudre for years to come, even after a decade of some of the worst fishing pressure the river has ever had due to population growth.

Getting guys into this area safely where the fire can't close them in must be really challenging. I hope they are staying safe up there.

Just checked inciweb. Fire as of 7:30am was up to 5400 acres.

Wind seems to have shifted and dropped a bit today.
