Costco has some of the best deals.

I can take you over there if you would like.

digital uhf vhf antenna

I built this UHF antenna noted below from stuff laying around. Free. Built the old style flat 300 ohm wire from 24 v bell wire and duct tape to space the two strands evenly. Put the antenna outside. Ran it to 1978 TV that has no cable hook up. Got 36 channels on VHF and UHF. After 3-30-09 will most will be off the air?

Moved the antenna inside for temporary setup with an 8 year old tv. Replaced the flat antenna wire with a 75 ohm (Baulin) transformer ($2.99 from Tru-Value), a short section of old Comcast cable and a DTV converter ($42.00). Got 16 DTV channels. Better antenna placement will likely get 4 more channels.

For now I am sticking with Cable tv. If cable stops working or I get tired of the monthly fees, at least now there is a backup.
