No, I wasn't aware that it had closed. It has been quite a few years since my last trip up there with Lee Armstrong, Sea Knight on Ih8mud if you have read any of his stories there. Moose Drool was his favorite beer and I knew that Bucksnort had it on tap so off we went. Lee was impressed with the Bucksnort Saloon which is saying something from a frequentor of the Armadillo in Luckenbach, Texas.Did you know that the Bucksnort recently reopened Steve?

I'm really hoping to hear the back half of the "Saving the Old Rustbucket" story one day.No, I wasn't aware that it had closed. Do you know a dirt road that will get us there?I'm really hoping to hear the back half of the "Saving the Old Rustbucket" story one day.
The most interesting bar I've ever found is called the Solitario Bar, which is located in Big Bend State Park and takes GPS coordinates to locate. There are some really neat old places down here in Teller County as well, but nothing quite as interesting and difficult to find as the Bucksnort. We've had some fun times over there. Glad they are finally back open.
Thanks. We were up there for our 44th anniversary last October.Goldhill, off of Switzerland Trail side. https://www.goldhillstore.com/

We love going to the Inn for Dinner and live music but also the Store for lunch/Ice Cream just to support them.

I'll have to remember to stop by on the drive from my brother's ranch to my parent's farm. It will be to longer scenic route.https://www.oregonlive.com/living/2...where-is-central-oregons-hottest-new-bar.html
It's not on a dirt road but it's still pretty far out there in Oregon.
Mill Site has been closed for a while now. Haven't seen any activity up there. What about the Mill Site up by Ward? is that still around? Used to be a moto destination, as it's on the peak to peak... but no reason you couldn't run a 4wd trail beforehand if you need to make a day of it.
Yep! The Sprucewood is still open. The chili and beer still taste the same!Is the Sprucewood Cafe still in business on the way to the Rampart Range west of Sedalia? Used to be good for a bowl of chili and a beer after a day of dirtbiking way back when.
