ToyCar Care poured oil all over the engine of our GX470, to the point it was dripping off the skid plate on onto my garage floor. Wife took it back, they wanted to charge us for them to clean the oil up and see where the leak was. Which was ridiculous as there wasn't a leak at all, it was their gross incompetence at doing a basic oil change.

At that point I started doing all the work on that rig myself. Dealers are for warranty work and work I don't want to do, otherwise I wrench on it.
Interesting first post.

I do our own oil changes. I have taken it there for Tranny flushes, steering rack replacements, riming belt and water pump and have had zero issues over 14 years. Sorry for your experience, like the dealership they don't put master mechanics on oil changes I am sure, but they should have taken care of it for free. Everyone makes mistakes, its what people do about them that sets them apart

I totally agree. It just really pissed me off that they were clearly blowing off my wife because she was a woman. They wanted her to leave the SUV with them all day, clearly they weren't interested in checking the obvious thing first.

Unfortunately all it takes is one bad experience, they won't be seeing my 200 anytime soon...

Here again because I made the mistake of Stevinson Toyota east.
Found an add for a $25 dollar oil change and confirmed it had no limit on the number of quarts, and even took a picture. They would not uphold the deal and said that it’s for 5.1 quarts. It does not, and they had no interest in doing it and spent 15 minutes trying to prove me wrong.

So add false advertising to the list of things they are fine with.

I've had bad experiences recently at both Corwin (Boulder) Toyota and Bighorn Toyota in Glenwood Springs. Had an okay recent experience at Stevinson West.
