Headed up to the hills today. Figured with the snow, might be the last week for the aspens. I was planning on camping last night but ended up taking a nap and over slept ..... I got to the turn off for Argentine around 11:40, and man, lots of tourist up there walking in the middle of the road ..... A few miles in the valley, you come to a big stand of aspens. I stopped there as I aslo wanted to check out a small water fall that I spotted on the last run from the power line road. Further up I came into some light snow on the road. Continued like that all the way to Waldorf.
I stopped there asI didnt want to go to much further up and get stuck. After lunch I hiked up the road a little further before heading back down. I stopped by Mt.Evans on the way back and hiked around a little more. A most enjoyable day on the trail, well other than the herd of people... Here are some pics from the day. Enjoy
-In the lower part of the trail heading up
-Further up still, hitting the snow line
-A short hike down to the creek
-Snow is getting deeper...
-Shot of the truck
