The next Colorado Roadless Areas Task Force meeting will focus on the Arapahoe-Roosevelt National Forest, and will be held on Friday March 17, 2006 at:

CSU Lory Student Center
Grand Ballroom, East and Middle Sections
1101 Center Ave. Mall
FC, CO 80523
970-491-6444

The meeting will be from 5:00-8:45 pm. We will get an updated agenda out later, but the USFS usually gets the first 45 minutes or so, followed by local elected representatives and government panel, then the 'Stakeholders' panel, and finally a chance for individuals to say their peace. Valerie Douglas of COHVCO and Colo. Association of 4WD Clubs is scheduled to speak on behalf of motorized users on the Stakeholders panel.

COHVCO can use your specific input on the Arap-Roos roadless areas, and their potential impact to motorized recreation The IRA map can be found at: http://roadlessfs.fed.us/states/co/state3.shtml.

Attached you will find comments that I used in the Denver meeting, as well as Dolph Montgomery's comments from the January Pueblo meeting, and some other general talking points. When Val gets her points prepared, we will try to get those out as well.

I hope you can all make it, and let the panel hear that we would prefer to have the areas released from Roadless designation, and managed under normal USFS planning processes.
