If you're looking to make the old Volvo go fast, the Website you'll need to spend some time on is www.turbobricks.com.

I'm also a member of the Rocky Mountain Volvo Club of America (RMVCOA) and will be attending the monthy meeting tonight at Pint's Pub in Denver. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM. It's not as big or as well organized as RS but a good group of people.

You still have a B18C5?

Do tell...

I grew up on 200 series Volvos and can say I beat the f*ck out of them. They all lived... That B21 is robust. I remember being impressed that a 1975 model 245 had fuel injection, 4 wheel discs, articulated driveshaft, 3 point belts in the rear, lots of nice touches.

I had a '78 245 that I used to get airborne over RR tracks on a regular basis. Donuts, 100 MPH runs down I-94, off-roading, it didn't care.

I had a 740 wagon for a while, I would have loved to have small-blocked it. It had the 4 spd w/ overdrive, sunroof, heated leather, and every other option known to man. The only thing it lacked was power...

my 240 (non turbo) blew a head gasket... Right after driving the wife to the airport for her to be out of town for a 4 day weekend. Talk about planets aligning! when she returned, it was lowered by an inch, (koni's) I had flow matched and ported the heads (while raising the compression a tad) and I urethaned all rubber suspension points as well as added the turbo sway bars... still miss that station wagon!

It wasn't a rocket ship, but it was fun as hell.

Obviously, that time it was decided forgiveness would be much better to ask for than permission? ;) :lmao:

Just in case you wondered why the beer tastes so bad at Pints, it is rumored their brewing equipment and or taps are contaminated. All of their beers taste rancid/bad/infected. Not kidding. A few years ago their stuff was great. I recently went to give them another try and my wife and I each ordered a beer which we could not finish, tried two others which we left full also. Sad. Several others on the Beer Advocate forum have reported the same. I guess they are floating by on their scotch selection only.

Sounds like some maintenance of the taps/lines and valves is in order!

I know the owner of pints personally. I can tell you that I highly doubt this. half of their product is cask conditioned. different casks can provide different flavors, however I don't think this would account for it all. I'll somehow politely try and find the scoop.

One of the guys at Volvo Specialists is an officer of RMVCOA.

I created and maintain the Volvo Specialists website. :)

It's a loose organization but Brett Borders continues to help keep the club going. He's also a great resource if you ever have any questions about any year Volvo. This past summer the club did a couple Wednesday night test and tune events at Bandimere. This Saturday is a Dyno day, on Sunday, 1/25, some folks are going to attend the Denver All-Euro GTG and we're also planning on going to the Shelby American Museum soon.

The next meeting will NOT be at Pints Pub! Location TBD.

Three of their beers are cask. I have been to Pints dozens of times, and the last three times all of the beers I've tried have had the same bad taste. I'm not an idiot, I brew my own beer and I know what OFF flavors taste like. Something is wrong there with either thier equipment, yeast or brewer.

I WANT to like Pints Pub. It's a cool local pub that could be great with some good beer. Unfortunately, their beer sucks o-ring right now.

Haven't agreed to the deal yet....tenant thinks it's worth more than I am willing to give him credit for. Guess I'll just boot his butt out and take the car he will most likely abandon....

What does he think it's worth?

There was a mint 1973 with only 60,000 original miles for sale on CL in Golden on and off for the last year. He was asking $6500.

What kind of condition is this one in?

right - they make 5/6 beers, and 3 are cask. I will speak to scott. I am sure he will address it.
