Always a Swell time- Winter Desert run 2012.

This was my first time to the Swell and after learning more and more about the Outlaws, this was a great excuse to learn about the area. The amount of knowledge Kurt and Perry brought to the adventure were tremendous. Each camp was worthy of making basecamp and exploring the immediate surroundings for days.
I hope you enjoy these pics. and if I can figure out how to post videos you'll see some "Gamiviti-Cam" footage.

It was an awesome camp along the San Rafael River and Mexican Mountain.

We settled into the awesome-ness of the Swell. Though there was no snow, as we were a bit lower than the Book Cliffs, the nights and mornings were still cold. A warm campfire a must in the winter.

Sorry for the delay in posting pics. While downloading anti-virus software, I got a virus.
Perry, there is actually a virus called AntiSpyware 2011. You can read more about this here. Don't download this! It sounds legit, but it is not at all.

Wes, we camped along the Mexican Mountain RD. Closer towards the Black Boxes. IIRC was about a mile or so in befor we turned south towards the San Rafael River.
Thanks for the link Matt. I downloaded Avast! but soon after wasnt able to be let on line. Un-installed the programe, got on line to look for virus protection software and got a virus
. Odd part is, My Dad uses this software, and has Windows 7 like I do
. Whatever. Norton to the rescue....

Goodness, I hope the powers that be dont pave this road. We dodged the National Park Status. FU Salazar. This would do just as much harm to the area as a NP status. Lets hope no for this.
Buckhorn Wash rock art. Place was cleaned up in '96. They shouldnt have removed Jim Bridgers signature.
