These are totally valid concerns with regular RTT's. I've run my ARB RTT brick for years on my FJ60's and done a lot of miles and I definitely take a big hit in the fuel mileage with it up there. This past Summer I really wish I had left it behind as I drove 4000+ miles, a lot being on the highway, and I kept track of mileage. I lost almost 2mpg, which really hurt the wallet on a long trip.

I still love living on the roof though. Something integrated into the roof of a troopie would be dreamy. Alu-Cab or Trakka or something along those lines.
