I have no independent verification of what the article says nor have I heard that Buehler is covering medical expenses.
I have no knowledge of who or what Buehler Motorsports is or does.
My experience is that it takes years to sort through how this sort of incident gets resolved financially.

When all said and done, my experienced estimate is Darren faces millions in expenses. I presume he has health and accident coverage through his job (he is an employee of the LDS Church), but I do not know any specifics. Plainly he is out of work a very long time.
He did not have air ambulance evacuation coverage. Specifically part of the ask is for that.

Hope that helps
in addition to what inukshuk says, i suspect the air taxi from ensenada to slc will probably be enough for the buehler owner to file bankrupcy...i can't imagine that is cheap. a lot of insurances won't cover out of country and out of country policies are sticky. daniel is a lawyer, so i'm sure he can help you figure out the multiple ways that the insurance will try to wiggle out of stuff.

even if he was fully insured and had low minimums, this will still be a metric ton of money. i had my ankle and knee both operated on this year and i spent my 2k minimum and i have another 2k in stupid stuff like bigger shoes cause my foots swollen and a recliner because i had to live in it for three weeks while i couldn't walk or lay down, fuel to and from dr appointments. my copay for phy therapy isn't included anymore, that's $80/week.....

I was told Medivac is 40-50k. If that BK's someone they are not be racing Trophy Trucks.

True. For $88.00 I bought an international policy for the duration of the trip that included medivac and $8,000,000 coverage. I used to not purchase them on my many trips to Israel, but they have excellent medical. After learning more about international coverage and as I was taking side trips to Jordan, I stared to buy coverage for my Israel trips. I have used https://www.imglobal.com/. Fortunately / unfortunately I have no claims experience.

Nope. ;) Not my practice area.
