I just spoke to Al on the phone.

If anyone is free tomorrow morning, Al could go up with you, otherwise I can go up with him after work tomorrow.

Anyone up for a late afternoon/after work run up Red Cone tomorrow?

Say trail head by 5:30-6:00pm? Al is going to call me back later tonight with some ideas on when and how.

I think the thunderstorms were supposed to be over today, so it may be exceptional up there tomorrow afternoon.

Tomorrow or Tues

I am good for anytime tomorrow or Tuesday. Spoke to Chris and tomorrow evening looks like a good possiblity. I may get up there early, hike up with a new battery and some tools and misc. items to see if I can just start her up and drive down. Or, if the weather is ok, may ride up with one of you. Anyone else free?

Judging by the weather forecasts (50% chance mostly after noon) for today and tomorrow I would think Tuesday morning first thing would be a better approach. I would hate to be trying to beat the dark with thunderstorms happening while exposed on top of Redcone.

I can do Tuesday morning if anybody else can. Would rather not go it alone mainly because I don't have a winch, just in case of any trouble getting it back onto the trail. :hill:

mornings are probably bad for most people since most people are working weekday mornings. evenings are bad weather wise....catch 22. either way, i need to know fairly quickly if we're going tonight...i used up all my c02, and if we're going tonight, i'll have to go at lunch to get my bottle filled

Just talked to Al. We are in a holding pattern at this point.

Al talked to the owner last night and the owner is considering waiting until this weekend to go up and get it.

Al is going to call him again this morning and see if that is the plan or if he wants Al to go ahead and get it this afternoon. Al is worried about more traffic on the trail and vandalism.

Ige, I sent you a PM with my cell. Give me a call when you have time. If the weather does not look to ominous and AL wants to go this afternoon, he is going to give me a call. I can then call you and see if you want to join us.

It would be great to have your mechanical know how, in the event it turns out to be more then a dead battery.

Chris I'm not familiar with the 80 series at all but, I still would like to come just to go if anyone goes up today/tomorrow. I'll stay out of your way (and I wish I had a winch we could use justin case).

Sooner is better than later for that rig... I'd hate to see it become a shooting target or a parts/donor vehicle. Sadly, not everyone enjoying the great outdoors are as classy as the folks in Rising Sun... :risingsun:

Hi all,

Sounds like we are off the hook for this one.

I got a message from Al today, he was not able to catch up with Rocky the owner.

As it stands Rocky may try to recover his 80 this weekend. He may reach out to us for support. If you are around and wish to head up to Red Cone this weekend, stay tuned.

Hello All

I'm flying home tomorrow night and the plan is to go up Saturday. I asked Al to wait so I could participate in the final chapter of this adventure since you guys made it up once already though unfortunately with no keys.

So if anyone is around and would like to go up again then excellent.

Thanks again to everyone who's helped in any way
