Key cylinder/starter switch was missing but there was a NOS one in the glove box … missing the key though. I wonder if I can pull a code off the cylinder and have Toyota cut it. Doubtful.

The ignition cylinder is missing the outside screw ring. The key code is on the front of the lock. You don’t need the lock or ignition switch to have a locksmith cut it. You just need to know the number. But taking the ignition switch is a safe bet and might be required by the locksmith? You’ll be able to ensure the key works if you take the ignition switch/door lock. I’ve done it both ways. There’s also the number on the driver door lock cylinder. If the ignition switch has been replaced the numbers will be different(?). They originally matched from the factory.
Here’s some info I put together several years ago when I was trying to figure out how to get keys for my 45’s. I was going to post this on Mud and once I refine it and get the all the LV key blank info I will….

I hope this helps!
