I dunno. I hate to rain on this parade, but I'm just not gonna be able to do that. Does anyone else want to get them? I'm not going to want one.

No promises. We got 5-6 inches of snow this past week out here. And it's supposed to snow again on Monday. Not sure how much more snow is going to show up between now and then. I'm fully expecting there to be snow on the trail.

Also, who has a small camping grill? I'll bring brats to share but unfortunately I don't have a small grill...

I can bring my two burner camp stove. I have a griddle that will go across one burner. We've done hot dogs on it before and it's been okay.

If it's too snowy though, we'll probably sit this one out. I don't have chains and I'm not wanting to be the snow plow again :D

If we don't go due to snow, y'all can borrow the stove and griddle. It hooks up to a regular propane tank or one of those little coleman stove tanks.

Right on. I will try and get out there to check it out before the run.

I have a little weber grill I can bring along too. I also intend to bring a large pot of chili to share with all.

Shaping up to be another great RTG!

I almost don't like reading this thread knowing that I'll be missing all of it. On the brighter side, I am up and walking with crutches, standing, small steps in the kitchen holding onto the counter. I've become an active member of my family again because I can at least get my own stuff and help out a little.

Thanks for stepping in and leading this year, Travis. I forgot to mention in that earlier post that I bring breakfast burritos (really good ones) from an awesome place on the Southside. :D It's good to break bread as a group before a long run.

I'd remind everyone again that there are no gas stations in Deckers. (meet-up spot) If you're coming from the mountains (EVG, Conifer, Bailey) I think Pine Junction is your last place to fill up. If you're coming from Golden, Boulder, Denver, I-25 and/or through Sedalia, your last place to fill up is The Market on Happy Canyon Rd or Sedalia. It's a long day, you'll want to be full. The Deckers Store should be open. They sell drinks, chips, snacks and would really appreciate the business at a very slow time of year for them.

Some shots from last years run.....

So I went out there right after that last big storm we got. I think it was on a Tuesday.? Anyways they had so much snow out there I couldn't make it more than a quarter mile down CR 51 ( which goes to the gulches trail heads). If this is still the case on the 5th, I don't know that this is going to be doable. I was buried so deep I had to crawl out the window to hook up the winch.
I'm just really hoping it clears up between now and then.
Like I said before. I will go down there and check it out beforehand if I can manage. As we get closer if someone else makes it down there to check it out, let us know what's up.

How's the snow situation looking? Is it promising for my little 4runner to complete the run with minimal group inconvenience?

I can bring my stove/grill to the meeting tonight if you'd like to borrow it (assuming we don't come, etc).

Not sure. I live 30 minutes north of Deckers. And we still have plenty of snow on the ground. Last time I was there it was worse there than at at my place. I'm gonna try and get out there and check it out this week.

Thanks for the report at the meeting tonight. Normally that's a good winter run because it is at a relatively low elevation; unfortunately it seems unlikely that there would be enough melting at this time of year to make much difference from one week to the next though.:(

So I didn't get to go down there today. Just too much to do and no time to do it in.
So Saturday will be what it is.
We will go ahead and meet at the Deckers store at 9. And if we can't make it to Metberry Gulch or we can't run it, then we'll just play around in the snow on other roads and have lunch and make the best of it as a snow run.
See you guys out there.

I think we're going to bow out. No chains, not amazing tires, low clearance... It could be fun to be a snow plow all day but I suspect :Princess: would not be pleased.

Unfortunately I'm out because of the snow... As warm as it has been today it will likely be an icy mess. Have fun and be safe.

Alright folks, tomorrow is the big day.
I'm not sure how many people are planning on coming... So I got 15 Brats and buns with cheese and mustard and potatoes chips.
We will still meet at Deckers at 9 AM. If Metberry gulch doesn't end up working out, we'll just play in the snow somewhere. Either way, we'll have fun.

Who's bringing a grill??

I'll be bringing a Trasharoo to raffle off before we start out.

See you guys tomorrow!
