I think Suzie and I are in. Drove home from the San Luis Valley yesterday afternoon and it took about an hour longer than the usual two hours from Johnson's Corner to Denver due to HEAVY traffic on 285. In fact, it was bumper to bumper, stop and go from halfway up Crow Hill to the stoplight on the other side. No big, slow trucks or anything, just massive amounts of folks heading back to the front range. What fun!

Yep, unfortunately the traffic home is going to be bad. :( the last couple of Sundays on my way home from work in Idaho Springs, it has been pretty slow. But, traffic never seems as irksome when I'm sitting in my 40. :hill:

I might take the frontage RD route into Idaho Springs and then the scenic route over Squaw Pass back home. I'll scout that this week and see if it's all passable.

We have done that exact thing several times in recent weeks - get on the frontage road at the US 40 cutoff at Empire, then take 103 over Echo Lake.

It's an okay view going over Echo Lake:

One day away....

Barring anything silly from happening, we should be there. Newly rebuilt engine is getting broken in on the trip home to CO, and so far so good. Even stopped to have dinner in Santa Fe with a friend...

No, the green one isn't coming with us, unfortunately.

See you all tomorrow!

Wish I could go, but I'm not sure if my 4wd is going to work yet. I suppose I can shoot up to Barbour Fork or something to find out.

after (hopefully) stopping a small tcase drip, cleaning up some more of the underside, doubling the stuffing in the seats, bleeding the brakes again (had a line off the other day), adjusting all the brakes, fixing the fuel sender, putting rear suspensions under two pigs so we could move them out of the way, and trying to polish the water spots out of the paint, we should be ready to roll tomorrow ;)

Lets start a thread in the trip reports section rather than the event planning section folks.

Mods, can you move all these photo threads over for us??
