22RE Tech Help Needed

The 22RE engine in my wife's 85 2wd pickup has an oil leak. I threw some dye in there today, but I can't tell anything yet. I'm just hoping it's not the timing chain cover. Are there any 22RE experts out there who could help me look this thing over and figure out where it's leaking?

Do you see oil on the ground or is it just disappearing? How many miles? If it is going onthe ground, is it at the front or back? Valve covers leaks can be a big thing if the valves have not been adjusted in a long time. I am all the way up in louisville now, but if you need some help let me know. This weekend is kinda full with the family. later robbie

Could be alot of things that I have found out personally with my 22RE in my 88. Rear Main Seal,Front Oil Seal, Front Pinion Seal on Front Diff., Oil Pan Gasket.........that has been my source of oil leaks. Depends where on the engine the leak is coming from.
