Thread will be to coordinate 2019 Ham & Eggs run.

12/17/18 - Initial post
-------------------------
What I'm planning at the moment is a destination run to Grand Junction. Details are set in Jell-O but wanted to start discussing it. I don't think a class & exam is feasible, would rather focus on getting existing hams more comfortable.

Location: Grand Junction, CO
Proposed Dates: March 23-24, 2019

Schedule is still TBD.

Potentially:
A couple of hours in a room discussing repeaters, APRS, topics that apply to our use
Tune-up of radios
Group run to practice in the field

Might could try to make this. Maybe try to run a few trails out there and make a trip of it.

Looks like it could work with my schedule. Would like to get more experience with my radio and learn new stuff.

At this point it's primarily that I'd like to confirm the weekend will work with enough hams.

If so I think I'm going to investigate reserving the group camp at the state park in Fruita for Friday and Saturday nights. It's not as good as 'wheeling somewhere but I think having a predictable (flat!) camp with facilities is better and if weather is poor or someone is averse to camping there's hotels near by.

We'll probably use the Grand Junction main branch library for the inside discussion on Saturday morning.

Got it. Well, the weekend definitely works for me and I'll definitely be a ham by then.

I can't make that weekend but I'm really glad Dave is keeping it going, it's a great event and great reason to head west!

Seems like a really good excuse to get near warmer biking weather :)

Head's up, H&E19 may have to be postponed or re-scheduled. I have an opportunity that will consume quite a bit of time from February to April and if I commit to it I wouldn't be able to really run Ham & Eggs until probably after Cruise Moab has already passed.

How about we book a meeting room at the library for Saturday morning for a couple of hours to discuss topics and go afield to camp overnight somewhere?
