So I'm guessing you guys take a different trail. I just ran fall river road to Central City without chains.

Is this a run for lifts and big tires only? My truck is a mostly stock TRD Tacoma... for now.

Historically this run has a big turn out, anything from bone stock to buggies and everything in between. Generally the bigger rigs go first followed by those that are less built. As with all our runs there will be a sweep & no one gets left behind.

Welcome. Where to meet up is spelled out on the first post of this thread, but I quoted it below for you.

No wench, eh? I'm pretty sure Jay-Z wrote a song about that. 99 problems or something like that. ;)

You'll have fun. These trucks (I'm assuming you have a real truck, not a sequoia or something) are pretty capable in stock form. The worst that happens is you get stuck, and someone needs to pull you out. Meh. Still fun!

Dan

Date: Saturday Jan. 30th, 2016
Meeting Time: 8:30-9:00 am - Leave at 9:30

Meeting Place: Cemetery area half mile above (west) of Central City-the normal spot. Meet for Pizza at Beau Jo's for pizza in Idaho Springs after the run. Around 4-5 pm.

CB Channel 4 - Ham 146460
Will will air down and/or chain up (if your using chains) at the meeting place. Most elect to not use chains.

Difficulty - this run is open to everyone. You just may not get as far as some. The only requirement is to have hard points front and rear for strapping purposes and of course a strap ready to go. A shovel and additional recovery gear is recommended.

Seems like there is some confusion. Are you meeting at Knights of Pythias Cemetery near columbine campground? Or The Masonic Cemetery in town?

It's the cemetery out by columbine campground just outside of town. If it's still there, there is a huge pile of gravel/dirt/boulders right there on the edge of the road. We usually meet right there behind it.

You'll be just fine & glad you can make it. This run is near & dear to me since it was my first run with R/S as well. You have my word that we'll get you back to civilization... Despite long hours & nights, Rising Sun does not leave anyone on the trail (rigs excluded but even those have been recovered by R/S members)

Its there but dirt's been moved around since this summer. Was just there last weekend. That's where my pic was taken.

I am looking forward to this run. I have never been on a snow run before. I am bringing chains, but am not sure if I will need them or not. See you all there!

Going up the canyon is a good choice. I-70 traffic to Central City Parkway can be difficult on a Sat. morning.

It looks like it may be windy before the storm. We probably wont be able to make it all the way over and into Alice\Fall River Road. The drifts up there above timberline will probably be huge and crusty. In which case we will turn around and come back down the way we came in. Either back down thru the cemetery, or preferably down York Gulch to Fall River road. We will look to get down into Idaho Springs for pizza at Beau Jo's between 4-5pm.

Dress warmly. This is going to be fun!:thumb:

Late notice, but does anybody have an extra yellow strap I could borrow? Just noticed a big tear in mine.

That's not that late... I just finished welding my rear bumper on. At any rate, I probably have one for you.

Wow Travis, you really need to get some sleep man. I tend to burn both ends of the candle but welding at 1:30 AM before a 9 AM run is intense.

I am not going to be able to make it so have fun gang!
