2015 40's Only Run

I'm for August 1 or 8 day run. Other dates in July and August aren't good. Also September 12 or 19 could work for me.

Wish I knew dates sooner...August is in our peak leave I'm I work every weekend with no way of taking days off. If we did a September run I could make it and maybe convince a few of the Colorado Landcruiser guys to get their FJ40s out. I'll keep up with the posts and see what the final dates are...very very low probability I'd be able to swing it in Aug

I understand, and there are always conflicts with August weekends! Back when I started this run, I tried to plan it in early September since the Rising Sun calendar was usually pretty booked in July and August. It made a great fall colors run as well. However, we did have at least one 40's Only snow run due to early Winter!

I may be able to make the trip, its been 4 years (see pic) since I've had mine in CO, sounds like a lot of fun. Any idea when date will be firmed up/deadline?

The boss man Tim says August 8-9 works best for him, any objections from the early birds? It be good to get it in the calendar.

Is this the current or final agreed-upon date? I'd like to ink (not pencil) this in to my calendar.

If it's Aug 8th weekend, Mosquito Pass can't be run. Leadville Boom Days is that weekend with trail closures all around Leadville because of the Burro Races.

I haven't read alternate ideas for trail locations, or alternate dates if Mosquito is the set trail.

So lets nail down a date first, then lets figure out a close to home trail with minimal hwy time for the slow pokes and FJ25's

I read through everyone's post and the Aug 8th date looks good for some but not all. Martin, had previous 40's Only Runs in September and I am open to that. After looking at the calendar (and thinking we should be avoiding Labor Day) I will throw out the following three dates. We'll take a new vote starting after post #57. PLEASE CHIME IN AGAIN FOR WHICH DATE(S) WORK BEST. We can lock this in mid week. Martins suggestion of waiting till September might be prudent, due to storms and traffic on the trails.

Sorry for the delay, I wasn't really hoping to organize this one, but I am fine with doing it.

Feel free to chime in on trail suggestions too. We can have this all wrapped up by weeks end then start dusting off the 40's, cleaning Ige's aviator goggles, and doing PM to avoid vapor lock

I personally can't do Labor Day weekend

The dates haven't been selected but August 29th may interfere with the Rally
Cruiserfest is September 11-13 so we are good there
