We can bring the cole slaw. I imagine we will probably get there around 5. Are we doing the white elephant type of exchange like we have done in years past?

You betcha! Some of these traditions are notorious.

Update

Howdy Everbody! Our event is this week Saturday. Here at the Meadow Hills I Condo clubhouse. I plan to cook a turkey on the Weber (grill not carburetor). And a roast or ham in the oven. Come hungry, this will be for you. You are welcome to bring your favorite holiday tasty treat to enjoy and share. Example; mashed potatos, hot wings, stuffing, gravy, biscuits, crab legs, homade salsa, elk jerky, red and green jello, potato salad (my elders were Polish), pie, enchiladas, Korean BBQ, pie, ice cream, caserole, dumplings, pie, shishkabob and cobbler! You get the idea, bring what you like. Or like to make. I will start the barby about noon or 1:00 pm and expect the bird to be done around 3:00 or 4:00. The clubhouse has a full kitchen with plenty of counter space and electricity for crockpots and the like. Come on by! We will have here plates, bowls, cups, utensils, cider and sodas. If I left anything out or you have any questions (rhubarb), just post up. I am flexible on the time frame of this shindig.

I will be making "Ibarra" hot sweet chocolate instead of cider. And the roast or ham has become a 5lb pork loin with chile verde. My navigator will be building a taco bar. Yeah it's pot luck. Kids are welcome, analogue crayons and markers will be around for new 5 link designs. And some paper too!

I think it's $10 or less for the white elephant gift exchange.

I still have never laughed as hard as the year we had the holiday at Mendocino's house and somebody put an Obama puzzle in the gift exchange.

JoLene and I plan on coming. We would like to bring the 5 year old :Princess:, but it would suck for her to be the only kid. Anybody else (besides Art) carting their rug rats along? :hill:
