After much debate, I've decided to part with my 1989 FJ62. I've got too many projects going and not enough time. This rig is in excellent mechanical shape and would be a great candidate for a full restoration. The rig has 208,000 and the motor has 212,000.
I've done a bunch of stuff to it over the last couple years. Here is a short list:
Motor reseal - no leaks!
Cap/Rotor/Wires/Plugs
Fresh oil change with Rotella T6 Synthetic 5W-40 and Toyota oil filter.
Front hub/birf rebuild with new bearings and seals. New TRE's.
New brakes, including rotors, pads, drums, shoes. Did the 3rd Gen 4runner caliber upgrade.
New exhaust from cat back.
New Hankook Dynapro ATM 31/10.5r15.
Has been de-smogged but I have all the parts to reinstall.
New windshield.
Carpets have been power washed and the seat fabric is in great shape. Dash is cracked.
Installed heat and sound insulation on the floor boards.
Previous owner used bondo to cover surface rust around the rear window and the right rear quarter (looks poor).
There are several small dents that can be repaired with PDR but there is bad dent in on the right side rocker panel.
I'm looking for $10k. I'm in Monument. Thanks. Doug

I have driven this truck and compared to my '89 with 257K, it runs somewhat better, seems to have slightly more power, shifts better, etc. I was slightly insulted ;-).

This is not a 'project truck' - it's very solid and tight. Doug has put a lot of time and energy into this truck and it shows. Like any FJ62, it needs a few things, but they are not giant in scope.

Looks like a Nice FJ62 for a good price, even with the imperfections. GLWS.

Agreed, I sent this to a friend... however he lives in town so the non-smog thing is probably a turn-off, as he'd have to pay someone to put all that back on there. GLWS, hopefully someone here nabs it.

Looking for feedback on the price? Doesn't look like I've got much interest here so my next steps are FB and C-List...ugg!

Price seems fair for the work done to the rig. I bet you will get it.

I’d probably go Facebook marketplace before Clist.

New price = $9,000.

I've had a ton of interest on FB Marketplace but mainly just tire kickers.
