Thanks!!!

Dave,
Thanks so much for putting this on and trail leading us both days - fantastic job! Also, thanks for the great burgers and food, much appreciated. Brit, myself and our pack of dogs had a blast and hope to join the club next year. Thanks again!

So what's the story with the truck off the trail on Imogene?

So what's the story with the truck off the trail on Imogene?

You mean Jeff, aka Pard'!

A moment of inattention and he ran off the edge. He did it in the almost best place possible and 98% of the rest of the trail would have likely killed him and his passenger. Further, he did not try to correct it which would have certainly resulted in a roll, but rather pointed the nose downhill and tried to ride it out. The group worked as an incredible team and Steve safely winched him out. No easy task as his huge Dodge was on top of a rotted tree.

Thanks to all who attended another successful Ouray Labor Day Run!

On Saturday we had 7 trucks on Yankee Boy/Governor/Sydney Basin and 4 on Poughkeepsie Gulch/Corkscrew. The Potluck Saturday night was a fine time to get to know the new folks that joined us too. On Sunday we had 9 on Black Bear/Imogene. They only "event" of the weekend was rescuing "Pard" in his Dodge on Governor.

Special thanks to :clap:Travis  for stepping up at the last minute to lead Poughkeepsie/Corkscrew.

Matt, who only bought his 80 a little more than a week earlier and had become accomplished enough by the end of the day Sunday to make a quick successful run up to Poughkeepsie along with Steve in his FJ Cruiser. :woot:

If you didn't make it this year, start planning for Labor Day 2014! :thumb:

Amen.

That was an incredible weekend. Thanks so much for keeping the tradition alive Dave! My family had a blast - the :Princess: only squealed once on Black Bear (looked out her window and down at the wrong time)! Cooper did great, too. At 1 1/2 years old he's becoming quite skilled at bouncing around in his car seat.

We can't wait to get back to Ouray next year! :thumb:
