Your 40 was sweet then, even sweeter now.

Future plans: gotta get yer picture taken at the top of Tin Cup with a guy named Matt in 2011. Good thing we have a heavy inventory of Matts.

Im with RockDog and SteveH when it comes to the club, in the begining of the threads i had sent Nathaniel an email asking about the run and the club. I have been wheeling a long time with many different people and clubs. I moved here about a year ago and I have been searching for a GOOD bunch of people to go out with. On the 4th of July i went out with a club and wont mention who but i had asked the same questions about the run as i always do. well lets just say it went down hill from there. He said i shold be fine and can do the run with them. Yes the FJ could do the run be i guess he did not read the whole email or have the time to answer my questions. the person leading the trip did not really care much of who was on the run and the club was not very personable. I just got the FJ then and now it has plenty of Colorado pin striping on it that i did not really want to do. Maybe when it was a little more broken in. He took us on a road called the 505 which was about as wide as the FJ and tons of branches sticking out for a few miles. Maybe in my Jeep when it is done but not the new ride. Nathaniel was very informative and knowledgeable of the trail and the area we were in. And everyone was watching there back and making sure others did not need anything. The 4th run they all just left and never said anything. This was a fun run and the folks in Rising Sun were great. Just a great weekend. Cant wait till the next event. Thanks again and sorry for the long thread. See everyone on the trails.

...and I don't know TreeRootCo well enough, but I wasn't certain whether he has lost weight, or just re-sprung the 40?:lmao:

There "is" quite a bit of difference in sag between the two photos...

We had a great time also. The kids had lots of fun. I remeber my first runs with RS and not having a CB and feeling like I was out of the loop. Now everyones on HAM and I'm again out of the loop. Nathaniel did an excellent job putting the trip together and dealing with the closed pass and Boy scouts taking over our intended campsite. Put us on the list for GTR09.

It was converted to the Camp Hale run last year, but Treeroot was somewhere over by Mosquito while we were on Ptarmigan as I recall. And only Marco had a 40.

Well then maybe you and Mike should just plan to get up there yourselves for the photo op :p:, I think you're the last Matt in the club with a 40 that hasn't had the photo op with Treeroot :D

I did not intend to replace the GTR with the Camp Hale. But I seem to recall we had 37 trucks on the last one. I'd like to hear someone offer to lead another GTR. It seemed like a weekend that worked for a bunch of us. It made me smile to see those pics again.

Farr,

I was so relieved that you did your run when you did. 37 trucks made me rethink what I had got myself into. When you started your thread about the Camp Hale run I just let it go. I actually breathed a sigh of relief.

The GTR was always awesome. I liked to go places we went. That was why I wanted to do it. The last year we ran it I really did some soul searching if I should do it again. When the Camp Hale run came up, I thought maybe it could be a good way to take a break for a year (or couple).

I have a feeling the GTR will rear its ugly head once more.

But until then...
