I need to do this on my '96 80 and on Brandi's early 80 too.

Seems like there are a few different opinions on how this can be accomplished, with the easiest being a bracket to move the rod geometry up and this would be simple to fab up. Am I wrong on this?

I understand the factor of the LSPV might not be functioning correctly to begin with, and I would love to increase stopping ability before our upcoming Moab trip, but I don't want to begin a project that needs some major dialing in on a critical system right before we leave.

Attached 1993 Pickup and 1994 Land Cruiser sections on this. I'm starting to wonder if the mini truck LSPV worked the same because it's referred to with the same terms, Load Sensing Proportioning and Bypass Valve, and it does have the same two lines and 3-way valve in front.

I'm still of the mind that on a leaf spring truck this system is workable but on coil sprung trucks with longer springs, more travel, it perhaps could end up being a source of frustration.

I also forgot to mention there's a bleed screw on the LSPV, don't ignore doing it, too. The order in the FSM is the four wheels and LPS & BV last.

IMO, you need more than to just replace the LSPV with a T. There is a line that runs from the LSPV to a T under the master cylinder on the 80's, that is presumably for the pressure diversion to the front. Need to change the oil in the Tacoma this weekend, will see if it is setup the same way.

With all this talk of deleting the LSPV I’d love to see a write up on how to do it and what parts are needed. When I look up the DIY on it most of them include the ABS delete.

Plenty of MUD writeups.

@DomOfTheDead I just have a bracket for mine. Its a 2 minute install. The dobinsons bracket could probably be replaced with some hardware store bracket. Its not load bearing. I noticed improved breaking after the install. Adjustment is easy. Mine was custom form fitted to the axle by the rear sway bar. I should have cut it before install but now its a "perfect fit"
