Ugh, last night was a sleepless one. Ms Pepper was not happy. Between coming off drugs, the new hole in her head, and the cone of shame, she just didn't want to settle. But she is acting more like herself this morning and is even a little frisky as she has been trying to get me to play with her since the sun rose. Here she is in the Backyard this morning. Shows the incision and stiches well Without hopefully not being too graphic. Poor girl, hoping she heals up quickly.

Second straight day of playing hard together for extended periods of time. Enough so they are both completely passed out

I can't imagine how hard their life is. Having to play all day and nap and get fed. They are truly at the penicil of being.

Was it a superficial cancer? Hope so.
I do not remember the name of the type. I guess it is prevalent in labs. Vet said that the sooner the mass was removed the better as it is the type that spreads rapidly. Said she may never have another lump appear, or another could pop up. Basically just have to keep a watchful eye on her.

Sucks because she is only 4 and we are quite found of her. But happy we caught it right away. Honestly based on where it was located, it could have been MUCH worse. Especially if we waited any longer. We discovered it about a month ago and thought it was an injury from playing with Leroy as he likes to bite the top of her head. But the lump never went away, so had it checked out.

We are keeping her on some pretty stiff pain meds so she is really out of it. But she gets these bouts of friskiness every few hours and wants to play. And then after a couple minutes she is back passed out again. It's kinda adorable. Sleepy, feisty, and completely unstable on her feet.

Tough part is keeping the pups separated. Leroy doesn't know any better and would cause some damage as he just wants to constantly play. But hopefully that will be just for the next 10-14 days. Funny that I am writting this as we had such a hard to getting them together at first. Now they really are almost inseparable.

Rupert was a bit wild and naughty on our walk this morning. He made a jump into the pond without my permission, earning his bath a couple days early. By jump he launched into it.
