3rd gen 4runner/IFS trip???

Hey I know there's not a lot of us out there but I think it'd be cool to do an IFS only run. I'm pretty open as far as what day to do the run but I'm thinking maybe in a week or two??? I don't want to step on any other runs toes though.

Depending on how built out everyone's rigs are we could do Coney flats from the Camp Dick side , Bunce School Road, T33, 68j to winiger ridge or we could venture out to St's John or Bill Moore Lake??? Mostly I just want to meet the other people with 3rd gen's/IFS rigs and check out your 4runner's!

Anyone up for this??? I'm also up for changing it to have anyone with IFS.

Also, I'd like to point out that I lead outings in another group that I'm part of and this isn't my first rodeo. Depending on interest, if it's a smaller group I'd like to do 5/6 rated trails and if more people are interested maybe breaking it up into two runs on different days; one harder with a smaller group and a Yawner day with good vibes & good views

I'm mostly just trying to put myself out there and meet people.

As far as the trails mentioned,
Bunce can be done on 31's with minimal lift and sliders aren't needed with careful line choice and spotting if needed.
Coney flats can be done on 32's and minimal lift with careful line choice and spotting.
T33 can be done on 33's minimum 2+ inches lift and sliders and armor recommended but can be done without if you're careful or don't care... lockers aren't necessarily needed if you know how to do the feather the brakes fake locker...
68j & winiger ridge can be done on 31's and stock. I've seen Prius's in the campground at winiger ridge...
St's John can be done on 31's with minimal lift.
Bill moore lake can be done on 31's and no lift to minimal lift with spotting through the gatekeeper.

I also think other people's input is fun. So help me pick...

It looks like the weekend of the 26th is open. Does that work for everyone for a night run of MSV/Coney??? It's a Saturday. So we won't be out late on a "school night" with work the next day.

It looks like the weekend of the 26th is open. Does that work for everyone for a night run of MSV/Coney??? It's a Saturday. So we won't be out late on a "school night" with work the next day.

I’m not totally sure when they close MSV for the season but I feel like this would be a great trail for the spooky run too! But I’m pretty sure it’s closed by then? If anyone knows for sure let me know!

Bummer. Im going to try and do it once a month and open it up to any IFS vehicle as long as it's not the devil's ride, a jeep.

I've been trying to figure out closer trails in the flats of the front range to do during the winter because of the darn snow in the peaks.

But anyways, back to our scheduled programming.

I'm thinking we run it from Camp Dick and meet @ the trailhead parking lot at 530 and leave at 6pm? That way we have a lil light to air down and get comfortable because dark will be around 7 to 730.

Here are the coordinates for the meetup spot. It's the parking lot just before the gate keeper.

Edit, I think camp dick is the front campground and peaceful valley is the back one??? So go past the first campground and straight through the second one to the parking lot at the back.

I just looked at the gate open/closed page and the MSV page at the boulder FS web page and there's no closure date that I could find. I'm not the best at figuring out the FS pages sometimes though??? So maybe it's just a "if it's snowed in" closure date.

If I remember correctly it usually closes mid October but was open till like early Nov last year

If you can get to the big water crossing in time it’s a great place to catch the sunset!

Usually November ( I think).. On trails offroad the last trail review was from 11/15/25 and it was open.

While on the one hand I'd be stoked if it were open till November, I also wouldn't mind it being closed in early October for the snow pack so we can fill up these reservoir's. I'm not a fan of fire bans and droughts.
