I bought an 8" Winbook windows 8.1 tablet for the 100 series to use for GPS using the RAM Mount setup for my IPAD just with a different cradle for the tablet.

My 40 has an ECU SW package you can use to monitor engine performance, for that and GPS I wanted to be able to use this setup in either vehicle

I actually have 3 switches in my dash that have no function. I want to save the fan and fresh air ones for lights or other so I removed the choke knob and installed a RAM Mount ball in its spot. Using the same arm from my 100 series I was able to easily add the tablet in what seems to be the perfect position

Here is what it looks like in the 40 with the install and the 100 series

That's pretty handy. So modern for a 40 driver. :)

Can you still reach the pulls behind the screen?

Yes I can. The only ones that currently have a function is the Hazard, Wipers and the far right one is to open the heat valve for the heater. The rest of the heater and AC controls are on the unit itself. I can adjust and move it around based on the ARM mount. The switches I wanted to make sure where not blocked were the lockers

no its on a USB. It wasn't connected in the pic, but I have it shown here

Thanks and perfect since I have a Surface Pro 3, but that tablet you linked is $119 - as you note, almost disposable! 1/10th of the Pro 3. Wise. :thumb:

Yup, I have a surface Pro 3 as well and I first contemplated mounting it in my truck for this and then decided that was a risky use of an expensive resource. I really like the Surface Pro 3. It's like have something as powerful as my desktop where ever I go
