We had a nice spring day out on Yansing gulch (chinamans) yesterday, with warm temps and a slight breeze. Our group consisted of @JadeRunner in his infamous 3rd gen 4R, @Norseman12 in his rear locked 3rd gen 4R, @justin4045 in his sweet 40, @Gerty in his killer truggy and with @Yarn Cruiser and myself taking turns driving the OffroadAcado. Upon arrival at 915am, the parking lot was already packed, with numerous other groups (15-20+ other trucks😳) staging to run both Yansing and Carnage canyon with some sick looking rigs including a few folks from Bighorn JC.

After all of our group arrived, we headed out in between the others and began the trail. Unfortunately, Derek had some electrical gremlins very early on in his awesome truck, the decision was then made that he and Justin would head back to town to find an alternator and battery so they could fix it and return to run Carnage. Scott, Mark and us would continue on Yansing and hopefully meet up to watch those guys run CC at the exit.

Our group continued, we skipped Yota rock due to a large XJ group already occupying the spot around the obstacle and made our way to Whales tail. There we caught up to another newer jeep group that struggled as the base of the obstacle is getting very dug out due to big tires and heavy right feet. We made quick work of the right side line choice and proceeded onward. After that, some bad luck hit as Mark sheered a valve stem off, requiring a tire change and later, a broken motor mount that was only identified after the truck stalled and would not remain running due to a portion of detached air intake resulting from unwanted engine movement. After some trail repairs, we made quick work of the V notch playground due to another jeep group right behind us and around to squeeze rock that has gotten a lot wider due to large volume of trail traffic. The Offroadacado got a few new small scrapes and a broken brake light lens :doh:but was otherwise unscathed.

Sadly, we never caught up with Derek and Justin to see them on Carnage so hopefully they might have pics and/or give us more details on their day. :)
As always, thanks to everyone involved, looking forward to the next 'Froadin trip with you!:headbang:

Busy day on the trails!
Derek and I headed back to the parking lot to swap out his what we thought a bad alternator. Turns out it's something else that we couldn't diagnose. After messing with it until about 1, we decided to just take my truck on the beginning section of carnage to play a bit.
We played for a bit then watched some guys go up the waterfall and v notch and headed back out. Beautiful day, just not much wheeling, but still a great time out!

Thanks for setting this up Dom and for that trail report and pics. My girlfriend had a good time. It was her first wheeling experience so that was cool.

The trail has certainly seen a lot of use in the year since I have ben there. I didn't even try to take some of the lines I am used too after I saw the giant ditches in front of the obstacles that people dug out. I had to take the easier lines for the first time in many cases. Saw lots of Jeeps just sitting there spinning out and burning up their expensive rubber.

Glad we got Mark's 3rd gen running again and that he got out with his broken engine mount.
