Yankee Hill 12/30/23

Our group had quite a day on Yankee Hill, we had 4 80 series and 2 3rd gen 4Runners. Only a few inches of snow on the ground, the trail was packed down and icy in spots. We encountered a ton of SXS traffic with the sunny day. Early on, an iced over water hole gave us some issues including a blown tire bead and front ring and pinion. Further up the trail, the group encountered traction issues on icy climbs requiring a good amount of winching. Once through, we finished up and over into Alice to air up. Thanks to everyone that came out today

The back side was glorious. We ran into some nice drifts down lower. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the action shots.

Ron Burgundy had a day. First time losing a tire bead and using a winch. A huge thank you to @DomOfTheDead for poise, generosity and leadership today. Nothing better than hands on experience for learning!

Guess I will have to remember the trouble comes in 3s thing. Wasn't on the run but I hit a guardrail just after we aired up. Could have been so much worse though.

Super fun run though. Really loving how capable my truck is now (and hopefully will continue to be once she's fixed up).
