So I've got some clear coat that's wearing down and it seems like it's better to do something about it now than wait. So what's the fix? Any fix?

my tactic has been to call it "patina" and just wax it regularly.

I'm sure my truck could use a real waxing. The paint generally pretty good and I'd like to keep it that way. This patch has creeped up over the past 6 months or so.

I'm pretty sure you can lightly sand and respray with clear topcoat from a rattle can.

I got this stuff at Walmart and have been using it on my 1978 FJ45. It seems like it works as well as old school turtle wax but less elbow grease.
Here, you can see where I did the door but still need to work the front end.
