Waterfront camping

We're in search of some dispersed campsite recommendations that have access to swimming. In my experience I've really only been able to find sites like that within campgrounds, which we're trying to avoid. Light wheeling to the location is preferable, but nothing crazy that would risk breaking parts.

I’d say those kind of sites would be premium in this state, hence typically part of campgrounds. Alpine lakes could be a possibility but then they’ll be pretty cold. Just thinking out loud here, don’t really have any specific places in mind.

I guess I should’ve clarified, within 2-3 hours of golden, CO is preferred.

It is wide open and clear. Lots of folks over there on Saturday (viewed from The Mailbox on Kingston Peak).
