Dear Mr. Farr,

The Historic District Public Lands Commission (HDPLC)
in the western portion of Clear Creek County is a
multi agency group which plans low impact recreation
in the Georgetown Silver Plume area extending to
Guanella, Argentine and Loveland Passes. The
Commission consists of representatives from Clear
Creek County, the Towns of Georgetown and Silver
Plume, the Colorado Historical Society, Colorado
Division of Wildlife, US Forest Service and Historic
Georgetown Inc. Many of these agencies own and manage
former BLM lands and mining claims up Guanella Pass
Road and into the Waldorf Basin. Vehicle access to the
Basin is only possible through some of these lands.

Dan Lovato, Clear Creek County Ranger announced at the
last HDPLC meeting that the Waldorf Road has been
adopted by the Rising Sun Jeep Club. HDPLC members
are pleased that more attention will be paid to the
appropriate use of the Waldorf Basin for recreational
vehicles. The Commission members would like to meet
with a member of the club to discuss our mutual goals
for this area.

The next meeting of the Commission is on Wednesday
January 18 at 9:00 a.m. at the Town Hall in
Georgetown. Is there any possibility that a member of
the club could attend? Please let me know at
ccneely@yahoo.com.

Thank you.
