Colorado Land Cruisers is doing a run to Mt. Blanca tomorrow (Saturday). They plan on leaving the trailhead at 9:30AM. The directions to get there are:
From Denver, take I-25 south to Walsenburg, then take Highway 160 west. Before you get to Alamosa you will turn north on Highway 150 following signs to the Great Sand Dunes. Road 975 is on the right, about 3.2 miles down Highway 150. Drive a little way down this road to find a large area to air down and leave trailers if necessary.
You can also meet up with some of the group at the McDonald's on Hwy 50 just West of I-25 in Pueblo between 6:00 and 6:15AM to convoy down.

It's a challenging trail but you need to check the CLC website as they claim some changes have been made at the two most challenging obstacles hat make them much less dangerous than before.

It is interesting about Mt. Blanca. When I first joined the club back in 97/98 I can't remember this was an annual run. Along with the Independance trails as well. That was when we were considered an extreme wheeling club. That those types of runs were all we did. The complection of the club has changed quite abit since then. We haven't considered this stuff for along time. I never did them cuz I was an infant in wheeling at the time. We have become a little more mellow in our trails. But that has also helped our club grow into what it is today.
