I have a friend on a tight budget who has this question:
I have a 1997 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with a 2.7 engine and a five speed transmission. My exhaust manifold has a large crack between the #2 and #3 exhaust runner.
1. What are the possible repercussions of just letting it go?
2. Should I have it replaced with the stock exhaust manifold or an after market header?
3. I there a preferred header for my Toyota?
I did some reading on the Internet, and the opinions are all over the place. It looks like the stock replacement will cost ~$225.00, whereas a header will cost ~$325.00.
Any help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
