So, after going to Yota Yard (never been there and now I am already planning 2 or 3 more trips right away back there....great place) I just replaced the interna door lock setup. Seems to work fine now and the door has not swung open so we will see. Not to bad for $40 when the dealer wants about $375 for the lock.

Anyway, why would only one internal door lock (the part that catches the striker) go bad? I am not to sure if I should be worried about the rest or if I shouldn't even care? It was just a strange reapir and one of the most frustraiting I have ever dealt with.

My guess it was random. Can you tell from the old lock what happened? Might give you something to inspect. I hadn't heard of this problem before.

Looked normal....seem to latch normal, no visable marks......smashed it with a hammer to make sure it never gets used again and trashed it.
