Got a chance to get out today and tackle FR560 aka Stoney Pass. While not a real wheeling trail, there was enough snow on it I felt pretty good about it until we saw a Highlander coming our way

Anyway got to climb out on the rocks a bit and throw snow into a creek. And kept a socially acceptable distance from @Inukshuk . Thanks again for letting us join you!

Looks like fun! Always nice to go on a good day trip.

Out of curiosity, any idea how long ago was the forest was in that area?

Most of it was the Hayman fire which was 2002. There may have been a little bit of Buffalo Creek fire too which was 1996 I think.

Nice job getting after it gents!

FWIW, fire boundaries and GPS tracks overlaid the ESRI topo base map.

CR68 starting in Bailey shown Orange
Wellington Lake Rd indicated Blue
FR560 is shown Red to the junction with Goose Creek/FR211

Good day! Would not have gone solo, so glad you made it. The Buffalo creek fire started just up the hill from my friend's cabin - before he owned it. What we drove through on our way to Cheeseman Reservoir was all Hayman burn.Social Distancing 4wd.jpgIMG_6410.jpg

Did you guys come in from Wigwam off CR126, then? Just another FWIW, I put the rest of my GPS tracks from the Colorado Trail bike detour around Lost Creek Wilderness. I'm guessing it won't share much with your route.

We basically just started in Bailey, went past Wellington lake, over Stoney and to the highway between deckers and buffalo creek.
