Yeah. So I’ve been in love w/ the 1970 Chevelle since I was about 7 years old.

My neighbor across the street had one and it was the coolest thing ever.

I’ve dreamed of owning one most of my life. Should have bought one 30 years ago when you could get a running SS for 5k not the 75k they go for now days. Should’ve, could’ve right??

Well tomorrow morning my cousin in Temple TX is driving down to Austin to pick up my very own 1970 Chevelle!

She’s solid and rough all at the same time. Needs rust repair around the windshield and rear window, rear 1/4’s and some patches in the floor and trunk.
The car has a running 307 w/ a 2spd power glide and title!

This is what I want it to look like when it’s done.

Plan is to do a restoish mod w/ a BB or a LS and a manual transmission!

Can’t wait to get started on this thing!

I do hope to have the rust repair done by a good friend in TX before it gets up here in the spring or summer of 23.

Dang it! I was hoping to get one before you... :ROFLMAO:
Now I'll just have to settle for having a drivable one before you. :bolt:

But in all seriousness, that's pretty cool. She's looking pretty rough. But I hope you can get it all put back together soon.

Probably won’t be too soon, but eventually. First part will be slow for sure. As well as the second, third, etc. 😳🤦‍♂️

Car is officially acquired. It’s sitting in my cousins shop in Temple Tx atm.
Car is rough. Little more rust than I thought it might have but it’s got good bones. Supposedly a one owner car, but the title was issued to owner in 1983. It hasn’t been registered since 1988.
It’s going to be a long road, but I think I’m up for the challenge. Time to save even more money. 😂🤦‍♂️

Got some wheels and tires that hold air.
75 bucks for some knock off Cragers and tires that hold air better than the tires that were on it.
Crazy how cool it looks w/ just some crusty wheels.

Love the car! I can't say enough about how much more I liked the LM7 5.3 with a Trick Flow cam and a performance tune over the carb'ed 427 that I yanked out. That engine ripped in my 68 Camaro with a Tremec TKO 600 5-speed with a 3.73 posi in the rear. No more carb problems and instant start! I plan to do the same motor in my 70 C10 short bed one of these days.
