New-ish
Hey there,
Finally got around to finishing up these sliders that I made for a friends wife’s 4Runner. Wanted to do something a little different and this is the end result. It’s my first set of sliders I’ve ever built, and these ones were made using the hand pumped harbor freight hydraulic tube bender, which, while I was able to pull it off, I would never do again!!
This 4Runner is nicknamed IZZY - and as you can see I decided to incorporate that into the design.
1.75” DOM tube mated to 2” square, both 0.120”, 14 gauge top plate with some dimple die action. I don’t have a powder coating setup yet, so for now these were treated with rust-oleum truck bed coating. Everything was hand cut and bent, looking forward to building the tools up as time goes by. I welded these to the frame using 1/4” plate with gussets on top.
I’ve also made progress on the center console so stay tuned for that here in the near future.
