If you were going to buy a slide hammer, which of these two would you go with? The smaller kits (OTC 7947) is around $100~$125 less than the bigger (OTC 7948). I already have an OTC 1062 bar puller and an OTC 1035 2-arm puller, so I guess I'm asking primarily do any the extra pullers in the bigger kit look particularly useful? I mean ideally I would just opt for the extra tools, but call it maturity, call it the 3 shots of whiskey I had for breakfast, but maybe I don't really need the extra tools.

Do you have something that needs that now? Would the extra tools be useful? Do you expect to need them later?

I'd get the bigger one. The extra assortment of bearing pullers would come in handy for doing a tranny.

I've got some body work to do and both have the dent pulling contraption. As far as your second question, well that's why I'm asking. Do any of them look like something familiar to maybe something anyone used on an axle or transmission bearing or something? Probably going with the bigger kit, never a bad thing to have more tools, although saving $100 is still saving a $100. I tend to buy a tool specifically when I need one, which is how I ended up with the couple of pullers I have, doing something drivetrain related.
