Subzali mentioned this in another thread. I don't want this idea to get buried, so I'm starting a new thread specifically for this. We saw some signage on the Poughkeepsie Gulch trail near Ouray, CO that might be really good for Jenny Creek.

First, the winch point anchor signs. There were 3 winch points, each with their own sign.

Second, a close-up of the sign.

Third, White Knuckle (Dave Hartman) showing how to use the winch point anchor.

Here's the signage right at the start of the trail.

1. Forest Service "Adopt-A-Road" sign, with props to the local club.

2. Close-up of the local club portion of the sign.

3. The directional sign that showed us the trail.

This thread reminded me that the Forest Service rep that was with us while installing the Kiosk at Jenny Creek asked that we produce some sort of signage or a poster that they can place in the kiosk when they add their stuff. She also mentioned the small signs that mile high uses along the trails that they have adopted.

Maybe we should design something similar for our trail that could be like the photos Matt posted from WS4W.

I'm willing to design it and do some foot work about getting metal signs made if the club deems it a worthy cause.

It is hereby deemed a worthy cause. Argentine Pass needs a few as well, and a kiosk sign too.

I am sure that I can get mr. cohen to donate time on the plasma table, or the steel and we pay for the plasma time at altitude

I really like this one (the local club sign). Not sure how much something like that would cost, but I think it's a great mechanism for promoting the club, and it looks really nice.

The FS is who (as far as I know) started doing that. Most of the signs up around LHC have a flag on them. Brian was saying only one carsonite sign at 5-points is shot (for the most part) anymore...
