Linked up w/ @Basaltfj40 in Carbondale for Schofield Pass to Crested Butte. After Crested Butte I headed back towards Denver via Italian Pass.

Schofield Pass - not for the faint of heart. Theres some pretty good exposure here.

See many people on the passes? Looks like fun.

Surprisingly not really at all. I think we saw a couple side by sides between the town of crystal and the top of schofield pass. I did not see a single vehicle on Italian except for a couple dirt bikes coming down from American Flag Mountain, but they were like 5 miles ahead of me or so.

Schofield is the one pass where oncoming traffic can be a big problem due the narrowness of the road. Attempting it during mid-day peak traffic hours should be avoided, under non-covid conditions. :)

Agreed - I was kind of surprised it isn't set up as a one way route.

Awesome.

From a photography stand point, how would you rate Italian Pass?

From a "i'm probably going to be solo if I run this pass" standpoint, how would you rate Italian?

Asking since i'm eyeballing that area for later in the summer...........

It’s gorgeous, comes out of Taylor Park. I dirt bike there a lot. Trail isn’t bad at all, decent driver I wouldn’t think twice going alone on it.

Agreed. Now that I think about it I saw a stock gmc envoy coming out of there. The trail is not bad at all. Could definitely do it in a stock truck.

It's really scenic around there. I'm not much of a photographer so I'm not really sure how to rate it. It's nice. I'd take photos if I had a better camera and more time.
