Ooops were doing it again!
Like January 26 to Feb 5, cause its a two day trip each way.
You know you want to!
But it is not for everyone. Nonstop 4x4's, chaos, noise, plenty of dust, smell of all types of fuels, random huge illegal fireworks, more noise, racing, racing, racing, concerts. Think Mad Max meets Burning Man without all the dirty rich hippies. Plenty of poor dirty truck lovers like us! Its also spectacular desert scenery.
Concept is to leave Friday to be at KOH for the Trophy Truck (think Baja 100 style) race Sunday. Stay the week. Its not boring, I promise. Start the slog back to Denver on Sunday 2/4.
LongCruiser can take 4 in comfort and style. Gas will be paid for. You might need to pay for your entry (not much) and a share of renting a RV (this is NOT a place to tent it unless you really want to suffer)
And Rusty Nail Racing always brings a great Toyota crowd.
Happy Friday - now I got you dreaming!

Warning: If you go to KOH you may become addicted to desert racing.

Did you know that Kim and Hunter Sparrow from Fruita race? Did you know that Kim is the daughter of past Rising Sun Member, Commander, and former TLCA President, the legendary Dave "Red Fox" Brown?

Ooooo it might work out that I could swing through on my way back from ABQ to say hello...

-edit-

Just before the pandemic, I drove by KOH very early in the morning on my way back from Palm Springs. Saw lots of rigs on trailers heading toward the pits, a few early morning desert racers, etc. Looked very cool but I was so cold on my motorcycle that I pressed on rather than stop and check it out.

I reckon I’ll be there! PishPosh on the tent talk. I’ve tented every year I’ve gone. The trick is to just get hammered enough to sleep through the noise.

Can I come to just hang out and watch? I may or may not have some unfinished business in that general area... 🤣
