Well as I continue to sift through old floppys, trying to get ready to move my home office, I keep finding treasures. I decided some need to live on.... :) So here is a tread that can bring out those early wheeling days of RS.....

For you folks that are enjoying pics with all the 40's....

Here is the very first Snow/Pizza run. This was a club record of attendance outside of Cruise Moab. 23 rigs showed up!

Hal something? That all red cruiser reminded me of the Clint Eastwood movie where they painted the town all red. You teased him too hard he quit the club.

The "High Plains Drifter" Cruiser. :D

These pics are great, makes you wonder where all these 40's are now. It seems rare to see one on a trail run now.

The fact that only a couple folks were motovated to do things for the club and a whole lotta people griped that things needed to be done differantly chased him away. When he took on the newsletter editing and couldn't get submissions that was the last straw. I am still friends with Hal. He lives very close to Don Reece.

The first one is Dilley. Is the second one Tim Noreen?

I don't think so -- Tim's FJ40 has a different bumper and regular side mirrors. At least, it has since I met him in 1997. That's when I met you too, Chris. Or maybe it was '98.

Don was the tailgunner on my first CM trailride. Dave Brown was the leader. We were doing Poison Spider. I was so embarrased I was having a really hard time. I thought my clutch was slipping because I had no power. I had just replaced a burned up clutch about a month before. About half way through the day Dave Brown looked down and said, "Hey your hubs aren't locked in." Don also told me a trick about crossing the Crack without lockers. He said, "Drop your spare tire in the crack valve stem down and drive straight across." Later I found out I didn't really need lockers to cross it in a wagon but that wasn't a CM deal. I've passed this info on to a lot of folks. Last year at Moab Mash a friend of mine said they had a Early Bronco get hung up. The dropped in his spare and he drove right across. You never know when those little tips will come in handy.

You guys have a good history.

Kevin maybe you should put together a CM anniversary slide show for this year?

OK.....I'm being a little mean as the second one isn't an RS member although a few folks have been with me when I've wheeled with him. Others of you have met him but not his Cruiser. Dave Nalley from Weld County 4 Wheelers. He was CoA4WDCI Pres before Shelly.

On the first large group of pics I posted (the group that had Hal Johnson in it) who's other red Cruiser is that ? I should know but do not.

My first time was 97, Dan Dilley led all the rides we went on. It was a little less orginized back then, sign up the night before for the trip and you were good to go.

Here is the only shot I have at work, I will bring some in tonight to the meeting. Chris do you still have the little mascot you used to carry on your cruiser??
