rims size

so i came across a set of 40" mtr's for a great price, i picked them up and now i need to find some rims will a 17x9 work or should i go with a 17x10 bead lock or non bead lock i've checked a few place's and the 17x9 is a few dollars cheaper than thew 17x10 but i don't know if a 17x9 will work with the tire's which a 40x13.5x17 would any one have an idea???

According to Goodyear's site a 9" rim is within spec:

Personally on that wide of a tire a 9" rim seems narrow to me but Goodyear says its within the approved size. A wider rim will of course give you better wear and footprint on the tire because it won't be bowed in so much. IMO I'd go with the 10" rims (or even 11" per Goodyears site at that is the rim size they used for the measurements) if you need the extra footprint that would offer and if you're not talking a lot more $$ per rim...
