Life’s been busy lately, it gets that way at the beginning of a school year with little kids and a wife that is a teacher. I’ve managed to get out and hit some dirt a couple times recently. A buddy from D.C., another cruiser owner and member of the Capital Land Cruiser Club, was able to extend his work trip a day and go ride with me. He got a rental bike from Colorado Motorcycle Adventures. They were great to work with, a reasonable price, and had a well kept Toureg 660. They have 45+ bikes so there’s plenty to choose from.
I’ve mostly stuck to the Rampart Range, Deckers, and Lake George area. I usually start at Dakan road as it’s about 20 minutes from the house. Matukat road has been my favorite find so far. It’s fairly well maintained, great views, and all the curves you could ask for. It’s got a great flow to it. It also drops you off near Lake George and Fat BBQ Shack, those burnt ends hit the spot (it’s been rather difficult finding good bbq in the Denver area, any suggestions?).
